Patee Thai Restaurant is the longest established Thai Restaurant in Melbourne. The first Patee Thai was set up by Mr Patee on the 7th April 1983. It was originally located at 371 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy and was later sold to TKC IMPORTS P/L in 1986. Since then, Patee Thai has expanded to four locations and recently downsized to two.
Patee Thai is closely involved with entertainment venues such as Revolver Upstairs (Chapel St. Prahran), Koo Koo (Swanston St. Melbourne), and Spy Bar (Clarendon St, South Melbourne). Patee Thai also has an international presence with restaurants in both Bangkok and London.
Presenting authentic Thai cuisine in the ambience and atmosphere of an ancient Thai Palace has been Patee Thai’s trade mark, setting the trend for most Thai restaurants to follow in Melbourne. Not to mention that at least 20% of current Thai restaurant operators were once employed by Patee Thai and contributed to its growth.
